Earlier I told you that you have nice breasts. Still do, just a cute little scar circling the lower quarter of your nipple….cute! Really! However, you have cruddy veins. They won’t stand up to pumping those toxins that are going to kill me so back to the surgeon for a Bardport brand portocath.

Same friend. Different blood and urine. Heart test still good from last time. Different anesthiologist. Not cute but he makes sure you don’t know what is happening when they cut open your chest, slice the skin tissue away from the muscle and slip the port inside. It has a long tube that runs to the main vein into your heart. Yup, those toxins are going straight to your heart. Scary, huh?

Two days after this surgery they give you your first chemo treatment. Who’s stupid idea is that? The surgery site still hurts like heck and now they want to poke around on it? Sadistic SOBs.

5% of people who get a port installed, also get a blood clot. That’s right, you are one of the lucky ones! A nice big blood clog in your jugular vein gives you nasty headaches, nausea and blurred vision. You think its from the chemo and don’t complain. Doofus! You should have called the first day you’re eyes went funky.

Three days in the hospital and they find that blood clot and begin treatment. Guess what treatment is???? Shots into the soft skin on your belly. Yup! Are we having fun yet? You never thought you would be able to give yourself shots but here you are. You do what you gotta do to survive, don’t you?
